The term ’anthropology’ was coined in 16th century germany, by german university professors.In those times, anthropology was not studied as a pure or different discipline, but was understood to be the systematic examination and observation of the evolution of man as a physical and moral being.Two other english researchers, who also contributed to the study, were john locke and david hume.The german philosopher immanuel kant, and the dutch philosopher baruch spinoza, were counted among the early fathers of anthropology.
